| 2009-10 Kerr FBLA Officers Oliver Lee President Why? That's probably the first question you're asking yourself. Why me? Why choose this club? Now, before you say that Future Business Leaders of America isn’t for you because it has everything to do with business, I want you to stop and think about something else. FBLA is not primarily concerned with making you graduate as a top business major; we are not here to ensure that you go into the business field. Rather, we are here to ensure your future success- whether it is keeping you out of debt in college, helping you get to know the world a little more, or earning experience- so you won’t be lost after you graduate high school. (Or anytime in the future after that.) I find myself telling you this because I can relate to almost every single person that didn’t really have any interest for such a club. I was one of those people. I wish I could say I was in FBLA throughout my four years in high school, but I can’t. What I can tell you, though, is that I never regretted joining this organization for a single moment. FBLA has given me much more than I could have ever wanted from any single organization at school. I have gained so much knowledge about life, my community, and my future; I have met people from all across the United States as well. Most importantly, I have developed leadership skills that until a few months ago I never thought I would possess. The countless opportunities for you to succeed await you in this wonderful club. So if you’re thinking to yourself “why me? Why FBLA…” then let me tell you something else: Your time to shine is now.
 Thien NguyenExecutive Vice President
As an FBLA officer, I think that FBLA is one of the best/funnest club in the school, but I can't speak for everyone. Well, there's not much to say about myself except that I'm opened to anything so don't be afraid to come to me if you need anything. As VP, I try to keep things organized and add some fun into the club. What you get out of FBLA just depends on you. Whether you want the experience or just the information I think everyone should join. Well, if you ever need school supplies or help on anything or just want a chat, just drop by the kubby hole. So good luck in FBLA, and you'll definitely succeed if you try.

Helen Lee Vice President of Community Affairs
FBLA, the club that was unknown to me until sophomore, has taught me many things and has opened my eyes to the business world and the community. The organization, Future Business Leaders of America, stands for many more things than just business. It's name and its competitions may suggest the study of business, but truthfully that is not all there is to it. What lead me to joining Kerr's chapter of FBLA, was not only because of its relation to business, but also the activities of the organization, and opportunities and leadership skills it provides. I have had one of the best times in FBLA over my two years of membership, and as a senior and an officer for this prestigious organization this year, I do hope that everyone would take time to experience and see what this club and organization is all about. Don't be the one that is left behind or the one that shys away from a organization because of undecision. Stand up and soar into greater heights with Kerr's chapter of FBLA. Be the best that you can be and go above and beyond with your fellow members and officer team.
Hey FBLA members! For starters, I would like to express myself and say with honesty that FBLA has been the most thrilling and full of experience club that I’ve been in. Joining as a freshman and continuing to participate in this organization is one of the greatest things that has happened to me. Though it sounds super cheesy, it’s true. FBLA taught me leadership skills and what it takes for me to be successful in the future. I have gained much experience and will cherish them along the road. FBLA is not just an ordinary club where it’s all fun and games, though it is most of the time, it teaches you many aspects of life that you will need to know before graduating and hitting the real world. This club is filled with motivation and pushes you to do and be the best you can. Don’t let the word “business” scare you off because practically anyone can join this club and learn as much as you do. I hope that you enjoy and take the experiences you gain in FBLA to guide you to be “simply the best,” because you are. Best wishes to you this year! My four years in high school are almost coming to an end and I can by far say that joining FBLA during my sophomore year was the best decision I made. Workshops, districts and states have all been a blast and I am looking forward for all the members to join me at all the events this year. Yes I am the treasurer and in charge of all the money, but I really need your support this year. We really have limitations on what items we can sell on our fundraisers so it is important that all of you try your best to sell as much as you can. Additionally, I urge all the members to do all the little things such as working in the Kubby hole and staying after school to help bag our fundraiser items; this will really help the officer team greatly. Thanks!! I promise to do my best as the club’s money tree!! E-mail: yankagarwal@yahoo.com AIM: mayankeedoodle
Stephanie Canelas Historian
Hi guys! My name is Stephanie Canelas and I was born in San Pedro Sula, Cortez, in the country of Honduras. I came to America in 2000. I’m 18 years old (starting from the first rush meeting!) and live in China Town. I love art, and if you ever need me, you will probably find me upstairs in the AP Art room or in the library. I’ve been part of the wonderful organization that is FBLA since Sophomore year. Future Business Leaders of America is more than a club to me—it’s an opportunity. I am undecided on my major, but I know that business is my minor for sure (and who knows, it might even become my major!). I look forward to meeting all of you!

Parliamentarian
FBLA has been a really great experience that I wish I had known about during my freshman year. It has provided me with wonderful memories and an opportunity to gain more knowledge of the business world. Initially I thought it was a club only for people interested in going into the business field, but after joining, I realized that FBLA was really for everyone no matter what career field they planed on going into. As parliamentarian, I’m in charge of keeping track of all the points you earn and making sure they’re up to date. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or any of the other officers, we’re here to try and help you get the best FBLA experience possible.
